This page is dedicated to finding information on the internet. It is a page consisting of a lot of links to other pages, hence the term metapage (derived from "metanode"). Furthermore, since it is a page containing a lot of links to pages for finding other pages, it could be a meta-metapage. Some of those pages will also help you use pages for finding other pages. I'm so meta I'm not there.
Search Engines (and Directories)
The first, and probably most well known way to find what you're looking for is with a search engine, a web service that will go and find pages for you if you give it some criteria. Here are some general search engines. There are of course, many more, and I will add some when I can be bothered.
Google
AltaVista
Yahoo!
Open Directory Project
Google search for "search engine"
Sites About Searching
Search engines are tools, and you can do more with a tool if you know what you're doing.
Generalized Information Repositories
Everything
Wikipedia
Dictionary.com
Fusion Anomaly
Internet Archive
Sites About Particular Things
Of course this is what you're looking for, but I'm talking about big sites here. Instead of starting with a more generalized tool, if you're looking for information on a certain topic you may want to use a particular site that's *about* something as a starting point for for future searches once you find that site.

Pages That Just Have a Lot of Links
Often a site about a particular topic will have a page of links to other sites for someone interested in that topic.
